Shoulder Elevation Exercise

Shoulder Elevation Exercise by Coulton Roe

The shoulder elevation exercise is super funcional. This is a great exercise to build strength in your rotator cuff/shoulder. It should not be performed if it is causing, or worsening shoulder pain (Consult your physiotherapist for further help!)

How-To Steps:

  1. Standing in a nice tall posture, make sure your shoulder blade is in a neutral-set position (We do not want the shoulder blade dumping down and forward)
  2. Have the band in one hand, thumb facing forward. Use the foot that is on the same side to step on the band.
  3. Maintain good posture, and begin to elevate the arm, sending your thumb up towards the ceiling.
  4. ou may go as high as you comfortably can, but make sure you keep good form! The shoulder may NOT dump forward. (see examples of proper and improper forms below)
