Pelvic Floor Exercise: Heel Drops

Heel Drops for the Pelvic Floor

This is actually a pelvic floor exercise! Often women who experience leakage with running will have a hard time bridging the gap from kegels to running. Performing rapid heel drops until fatigue or leakage point is a way to progressively load the pelvic floor and build it’s endurance with the goal of running or jumping in mind! It’s an easy and effective pelvic floor exercise.

How-To Steps:

  1.  Perform a calf raise: lift up on your toes
  2. Rapidly allow the heels to drop to the floor, making a firm impact with the ground (simulating a heel strike with running)
  3.  Repeat until fatigue or point of urine leakage
