Multi Muscle Mobility Exercise: Mermaid Stretch- by Lindsey Mortimer
A fun multi muscle mobility exercise that will improve your mid back, hip and shoulder mobility, muscle length and engage your obliques! I love this exercise because it utilizes your own strength to bring muscle joints through a large range of motion. This is also an excellent scoliosis exercise. How-To Steps:
- Side sitting with your knee bent and hand supported on the floor
- Lower down onto your elbow of the supporting hand. Don’t let yourself just fall down – control the movement!
- Reach your arm over head – think about elongating the top side and shortening the bottom side
- Return back to a seated position by using your oblique abdominal muscles rather than just pushing up with your hand!
