Lateral Step Down Exercise by Physiotherapist Robbie Frank
The lateral step down exercise is a great exercise for improving lower body strength and stability. It’s super easy because you can do it anywhere there is a step or stool you can use!
- Slowly bend the knee of the leg that’s on the step, allowing the opposite leg to lower down towards the ground. Make sure to keep your knee aligned with your toes and avoid letting it collapse inward.
- Go down as far as you can while maintaining control, aiming for a smooth and steady movement.
- Push through the heel of the leg on the step to return to the starting position. Straighten your knee and stand back up, keeping your movements controlled

*Never do an exercise that causes you pain*
