Gluteus Medius Exercise by Anna Belay
The Gluteus Medius is a very important muscle in walking, running and single leg weight-bearing, as it prevents the opposite side of our pelvis from dropping during these activities. Thus, it plays a huge role in the stability of the lower limb and pelvis.
How-To Steps:
- Lie on the floor/bed on your side, making sure your torso and pelvis tilt equally.
- Straighten your top leg and position it slightly behind the line of your body.
- Lift your top/straight leg up (to about 30 degrees), and make sure not to move your pelvis or arch your back.
*Repeat 10-12x and switch sides.

*Never do an exercise that causes you pain*
