Balance Exercise: The Clock- by Chad Beacom

This balance exercise, ‘the Clock’, requires strength, flexibility, and balance. This is a great exercise for all populations and can be progressed and regressed as needed.  The goal here is to maintain single leg stance on one leg while reaching as far as possible with the other leg. Ensure you have proper support or supervision as needed. 

How-To Steps:

  1. Stand in the middle of the clock and imagine the numbers associated with the clock. 
  2. While standing on one leg, reach as far as possible forward, sideways, and backward with the free foot to each number while keeping your balance. Bend your support knee slightly for balance.
  3. Only tap your free foot lightly on the ground and then return to the middle starting position. 

*Repeat on other leg
