Now that we are getting into colder weather, keeping up with cardiovascular exercise can get a bit more difficult for many of us. Body weight exercises like Mountain Climbers can be a great way to not only challenge your heart and lungs but to also strengthen your shoulders, back, core and legs. This is an effective exercise for intermediate to advanced exercisers but may not be the best choice if you have acute low back, knee or shoulder pain. Talk to your physiotherapist to find out if this exercise is right for you!

How-To Steps:

  1.  Start in a push up position
  2. Keep your core engaged and back straight
  3. Alternate bringing one knee to your chest at a time, almost like you are running in place
  4. Work at a pace that is comfortable for you!
