Stair Calf Strengthening Exercise by Physiotherapist Ali Shaw

This calf exercise is good for both strengthening and stretching the calves. All you need is a step or stool!

Benefits:

  1. On a staircase or step, using the railing for support, balance with half your foot on the step and half off
  2. Slowly and carefully, lift up on the toes as far as feels comfortable
  3. Then slowly lower down, dropping your heels below the level of the step
  4. Repeat!

*This should not be a painful movement.
