The Squat with Calf Raise, while this combined exercise is really nothing new or exciting, it is a great way to be more efficient with your workouts. Taking a classic air squat and adding a calf raise creates a more interesting, dynamic movement that will improve your overall strength, function and balance!

How-To Steps:

  1. Stand with your feet shoulder width apart and with your feet slightly turned out
  2. Move into a squat by sending your hips back behind you and bend at the knee. Keep knees in line with the middle of your foot and do not let the knees travel past your big toe.
  3. Stand up from the squat
  4. At the top, slowly raise up onto the balls if your feet
  5. Slowly lower your heels back down
  6. Repeat

*Take your time with the exercise! The more control, the better. Do this exercise in sets of 2-3 with 12-15 repetitions each.
