Seated Knee Taps with Twist Core Exercise

Seated Knee Taps with Twist Core Exercise by Anna Belay

This is a great core exercise to improve core stability, control, and coordination. It can be done at a desk and all you need is a chair!

How-To Steps:

  1. Sit on a chair with the feet flat on the floor and the spine off the backrest.
  2. Place the hands behind the ears so that the elbows are pointing away from you.
  3. As you twist to one side, lift the bent knee of that side, and use the opposite elbow to tap.

Cues:

  1. Ensure the core is engaged throughout the whole movement by curving the pelvis inwards to reduce lower back extension.
  2. Keep an upright posture and look straight ahead with the chin tucked in.
  3. Make sure the shoulders are down and back to reduce shoulder shrugging.
