Levator Scapula Stretch by Physiotherapist Ami Patel
I like this stretching exercise because it’s very easy to perform and include in my long and busy days when I experience tension through my neck. You can do this anywhere, anytime! This is a great go-to neck stretch to keep you moving and avoid getting too tight at the first sign of tension.
How-To Steps:
- Sit at the edge of a chair, and hold under the chair to ensure the shoulder is down on the tight side you are going to stretch
- Side bend and rotate the neck away from the tight side while you bring the chin towards the opposite armpit.
- Bring your hand up onto the side of your head to assist the stretch. Hold for 30 seconds if comfortable.

*Never do an exercise that causes you pain*
