Neck Stretch

Levator Scapula Stretch by Physiotherapist Ami Patel

I like this stretching exercise because it’s very easy to perform and include in my long and busy days when I experience tension through my neck. You can do this anywhere, anytime! This is a great go-to neck stretch to keep you moving and avoid getting too tight at the first sign of tension.

How-To Steps:

  1. Sit at the edge of a chair, and hold under the chair to ensure the shoulder is down on the tight side you are going to stretch
  2. Side bend and rotate the neck away from the tight side while you bring the chin towards the opposite armpit.
  3. Bring your hand up onto the side of your head to assist the stretch. Hold for 30 seconds if comfortable.
