Alison Shaw
(MSc PT, BA, Pelvic Health Practitioner)
Ali completed her physiotherapy degree at the University of Toronto in 2025. She previously finished her bachelors degree in Fine Art and English at the University of Waterloo in 2015, and worked as a graphic designer for several years before returning to school to pursue rehabilitation sciences in 2020. You may remember her from her time as a volunteer or as an admin at SOS Northfield and Belmont from 2021-2023.
While Ali mainly treats musculoskeletal conditions and pelvic health, she also has experience with treating chronic pain and neurological conditions. Her goal is to be that needed bit of support and knowledge to encourage patients towards their goals and keep them going along the way.
Ali’s clinical internships helped her develop a passion specifically for pelvic health, where she got to see what a difference it could make in patient’s lives. She has taken pelvic health physiotherapy courses covering pelvic girdle pain, birth prep, incontinence, and more. She also had a chance to intern with the team at the WCH Trans Related Surgeries program, helping gender-diverse patients. She feels it is a privilege to be able to help patient of any gender on their journey with their pelvic health.
In her spare time, Ali continues her design and illustration work. She’s also an avid baseball and hockey fan, likes to play softball, video games, and quilt.
