Plank Up Downs
This exercise is a great one for those who have mastered the plank and are looking to make it more challenging, all while really giving the arms a good workout! I love this exercise because it incorporates balance, coordination, arm strength, and really challenges the core stability! We are taking the normal plank exercise and really upping the difficulty! When we add moving parts to a typical hold, it helps us gain more of a functionally stable core that directly translates to every-day activities!
How-To Steps:
- Start in a full plank on your elbows.
- Keep your trunk stable and hips facing the floor as you straighten one arm and place the hand on the ground.
- Straighten the other arm and place that hand on the ground so you end up in a full plank on your hands.
