Amanda Calford
(MPT, BSc(kin))
Born and raised in Waterloo, Amanda has always been deeply connected to her community. Her journey with SOS began as a volunteer in 2019 while she was completing her Kinesiology degree at the University of Waterloo. After earning her Bachelor of Kinesiology in 2022, she went on to graduate with a Master’s of Physical Therapy from Western University in 2024.
Since graduating, Amanda has continued to expand her clinical skills through additional training, including the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Levels 1 and 2 for the upper and lower body, as well as a Dry Needling and Acupuncture course through the Advanced Physical Therapy Education Institute. These experiences have further deepened her understanding of musculoskeletal assessment and treatment, allowing her to provide more comprehensive, evidence-informed care to her patients.
As a physiotherapist, Amanda’s goal is to empower individuals to fully participate in the activities that matter most to them, throughout every stage of their lives. Whether it’s recovering from a sport injury, managing a chronic condition, or recovering from a concussion, she is committed to providing personalized care that meets each patient’s unique needs and goals.
Outside of the clinic, Amanda enjoys staying active and participating in her hobbies. She’s an avid follower of the Canadian Football League, loves playing soccer, and enjoys exploring the outdoors through camping and hiking. She also loves baking, knitting, and other crafts. Her diverse interests help her relate to her patients and appreciate the physical demands of their day-to-day lives — insights she brings to her clinical practice.
Amanda is thrilled to continue offering her skills, compassion, and enthusiasm to the Waterloo community and looks forward to helping her patients achieve their health and wellness goals.
