Janice Moreside

BSR, MHK, PhD(candidate), MCPA

Janice is part owner of the SOS Physiotherapy clinic on the University of Waterloo campus. Since receiving her combined degree in physio and occupational therapy at UBC (‘77), Janice has practiced in many regions of Canada and overseas, while raising a family of 3 children. In 2001, she returned to academia, receiving a Masters degree in Human Kinetics at the University of Windsor, and a PhD in Spine Biomechanics, under the supervision of Dr. Stuart McGill, at the University of Waterloo.
Janice now works full time at Dalhousie University, Halifax, as an Assistant Professor in the School of Health and Human Performance, and joint-appointed to Physiotherapy. She teaches numerous Kinesiology courses, including Anatomy, a Lumbar Spine course, and a graduate level course on Measurement and Instrumentation.
Janice has over 20 scientific publications in peer-reviewed journals, regarding muscle patterns and joint motion during various activities, and has presented her research at many national and international conferences. Janice’s areas of experience and research include hip and spine biomechanics, posture, osteoarthritis and movement impairments.
